iPod Touch 4G

Yesterdar, Apple had an event in San Francisco where were shown the updates prepared for their full line of iPods: Shuffle, Nano and Touch.

The images below shows the redesign of the Shuffle (once again with buttons) and Nano (now a really nano) without the the old fashion Click Wheel, which next in the list to disappear would be the iPod Classic for sure.

After a little review, we are going to review the iPhone without Phone: iPod Touch 4G:

Tech Specs:

Processor: Apple A4 1GHz (same as iPhone 4 and iPad)
Memory: 256 MB SOC embebed (half iPhone 4 = iPad) (UPDATED!!)
Dimension: 111x58x7.2 millimeters.
Capacity: 8, 32 & 64 GB (does it worth the 8 GB model??)
Wireless: 802.11 b/g/n (n at half of their capacity); bluetooth 2.1 (We already have the specs for Bluetooth 3.0, so??)
Display: 3.5 inch Multi Touch with 960x640-pixel resolution.
Video: 720p with Back camera and VGA in front camera for FaceTime.
Sensors: Gyrometer, accelerometer and ambient light.
Battery: 7 hours for video and ¡¡40 hours for music!!.

Generally speaking those are the main characteristics which came with this year update for the iPod Toch (I want one for its retina display). Somehow the A4 processor has become an small star for apple, with 4 products in the market: iPod, iPhone, iPad and AppleTV.

Speaking about the software, this release will come with iOS 4.1 and the main objective to complain with the demands of the users within the Game Center, also I suggest to take a look on the technical demo made by Epic Games of their Unreal Engine 3 running on new devices because it is simply amazing:



This was a live video in Apple Conference, so Sony with its PSP should be more than furious about the push received from different game publishers around the world.

Do I recommend iPod?? for new comers and 2G users, of course I do, for the 3G users they might think twice.
